Weiss Freelance South East RR

  • This is an N-scale Atlas Code 55 layout. It's freelance so it runs from the mountains to the farmland in the south. Most trains or NS and I wanted to make sure the passage cars had no problem with the turns.

Kevin Stemple’s Blue Valley Railroad – New Layout for 2025

  • Moved in early 2025 and the dimensions of the room required a that a new layout be designed and constructed. Benchwork was started in June with the intent to have the mainlines up and running by the pilgrimage. Design of the new layout is a double folded dogbone for the mainline with a yard off to on side. The inside of the dogbone's will be industrial spurs, The Blue Valley Railroad will still be what might have been a rural town in Pennsylvania in the 60's.

David Gaines’s O Scale Layout

  • The layout is a 2-rail/3-rail O scale hybrid freelanced model railroad that depicts the transition era though not beholden to that time. The season is late spring early summer. The layout has elements of the PRR and most of the equipment is Pennsy. However, at any given time you can see Penn Central, Conrail, or any of the Eastern coal haulers on the rails. The layout is spread across two rooms. The main room has two separate levels, a double track mainline (lower) and a branch line (upper). The main room also features a 4-track classification yard, a coal tipple, a steel mill, and two small towns both at various levels of completion. The second room, with autumn scenery, features a small 2-rail O scale layout in an 11' X 12' room with the 3-rail system making an appearance three times. The 2-rail layout features a turntable and 3-stall roundhouse, a small 3-track yard, and a small town. The layout is a single track oblong oval with two short sidings. With limited space this layout utilizes several industrial and residential shallow relief structures. The layout also has a turnout that leads to a small switching area in a 4' X 8' closet. The layout is command controlled. This tour will give visitors the opportunity to see a layout that is about 65% complete but still a work in progress.

Morris Smith’s Tate Depot Model Railroaders

  • The model railroad club operates as a Standing Committee of the Tate Depot Train Society, a 501c(3) tax-exempt organization. The Society is organized to further the understanding that railroads played in the development of the marble industry in Pickens County Georgia and to provide education and guidance in the historical preservation of the Tate Depot. We feature both a large HO scale layout and a purpose built N scale. In addition we have a historically accurate station masters office complete with telegraph. We are open to the public every third Saturday of the month, from 10:00AM until 2:00PM. We host special events and have meeting space with tables and chairs.

Eric Siegel’s Appalachian & Western Railroad

  • My layout depicts modern day diesel freight operations, although I also will run steam trains from time to time as well. The heart of the layout is a fully functional freight yard, complete with a 17 stall turntable, classification yard, diesel service facility and fuel depot. The layout is spread between 4 rooms, which allows for great scenery transitions. 3 of the 4 rooms are set in the mountains of the southeastern U.S. The 4th room is set in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Construction of the layout began in 2007 and the approximate completion date is 2020. While all major construction on the layout has been completed, there is still much scenery and structure work in progress, so this is a great opportunity to see a layout which is still growing and developing. There are 2 levels of track and one layout can run 5 independent trains at once, including a narrow gauge On30 line in the Colorado Room.

Norman and Ann Lundin’s Elkriver Garden Railroad

  • The ERR garden railroad (G) has 3 loops and a 2% grade connecting line. It has a waterfall and a small pond. It forms around a 200-year-old Oak tree within a vehicle turnaround area. One trestle and 2 bridges cross the pond. Power is Bridgeworks and Airewire 900 battery power. BN, BNSF, 8&0, SF, UP, D&RGW, C&S is all represented. Most structures are 1:29 but narrow gauge structures have been acquired and loosely fit in.

Norman and Ann Lundin’s Elkriver Railroad

  • The ERR (HO) is a modern logging railroad depicting the Cascade Mts of Oregon, from Coos Bay to Grants Pass. Coos Bay is a major intermodal port and Amtrak destination. Logging happens in the mountains at Camp #6 near Eagles Nest and is transported to the paper mill, Lumber mill, and plywood mill. Processed paper and lumber is shipped out through both ends (CB and GP). Coos Bay has a small shipyard, gravel export by barge, and grain export facilities. Unit coal trains arrive at the power plant, unit grain trains to the flour mill, and intermodal trains between CB and GP. Wendy Hollow is the home of a large steam museum with all the required service facilities. Planned, but not completed for the open house is a cannery complex and fishing village at Gold Beach in my new office area. GN, BN, BNSF, UP, SP make up most of the diesel roster, however, the steam engines are from various roads. There is one duck-under to see the main part of the layout. (48" clear).
