A small layout created using a Bachmann starter set and building from there. A fun layout using all of the available space and providing the opportunities for railroad action. The setting is Paris, Illinois which, like the layout, has the intersection of two mainlines and tracks around three sides of the central business district.

A friend of ours, knowing of our intersect in model railroading gave us a Lionel starter set and a station kit. At about the same time there was a large volcanic eruption in Iceland. A little research indicated that there are no railroads in Iceland. Since the layout was small, we figured we could use our imaginations and give Iceland its first railroad. The setting is a small town which is the northern terminus of the railroad. This railroad is located on top of our HO layout and acts as tunnels for the bigger layout.
