The video above is a replay from our 2020 "virtual" Piedmont Pilgrimage.
For 2021, this will be an in-person tour of this indoor model railroad.
Layout Description:
This layout is a representation of the Etowah Old Line, aka Georgia North Eastern, in the last weeks before CSX transferred the line to GNRR. It is only partially completed. Since last year, the line has been extended with the Marble Hill branch, which is 75' of track, not including spurs and sidings. The branch leads to the Tate switchbacks, a prototypical 4% grade, and then the Georgia Marble quarry and mine. The branch is operated by the Georgia Marble Railroad using a custom painted SW1. This new section is very sparsely sceniced, in some cases with mock-up buildings.
Locale: Elizabeth, GA to Etowah, GA (currently Elizabeth, Marietta, Canton, Nelson, Tate and the Marble Hill branch of the Georgia Marble Railroad).
