The railroad depicts the States of California, Utah, and Colorado. The N scale layout has over 300’ of finished track, hand painted scenery on 3 walls, and is about 95% totally finished. The remote Helix is visible by video cameras. There are 2 yards available. Several unique features are: an operating rolling-lift bridge, a drive-in theatre with a featured film playing, a scratch built cargo ship with operational winches, a scratch built hotel modeled after one in San Diego, and a walk-in theatre with sound. Many diverse industries are serviced by diesel or steam engines. Signal lights at most turnouts and flashing tunnel occupancy lights are controlled by a Raspberry Pi. See the Piedmont website for recent photos.
